Day 28 – Franz Joseph, NZ

So after hiking uphill through jungle for 3 hours (11km) with only a couple brief views, I finally emerged above the tree line, and following another 20 minutes, I reached the summit of Alex Knob, for some of the most spectacular views I’ve ever experienced. The first image is where I started, the second was my first view, and the last two are taken from the same summit looking in different directions, towards the Franz Joseph Glacier and towards the Sea the other way. Then I had to take the same grueling track back down. Enjoy.
