The existing two-storey addition to this private detached home was in poor shape and providing little functional benefit to the house. A replacement one-storey addition was designed that more appropriately fit in with the existing house while also providing a new rear entrance and mudroom off the kitchen. The new addition has an overhang to provide a covered barbeque area and the existing deck was expanded around the new addition. With the two-storey addition being removed, the existing roof and second floor brick façade were restored back to their original design.
